Establishment.

Dear Carrier of the Light,

“Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, just as I promised to Moses. From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun shall be your territory. No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you.”

‭‭Joshua‬ ‭1:3-5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Do you believe this truth? Our God has cemented and established our feet. We have no reason to doubt or operate out of fear. We have all of the tools and equipment necessary to fulfill and confidently live out the plans that He has designed for us. Walk the path that He has pathed for the two of you with confidence this week. Have a blessed week enjoying the comfort and security of firmly planted roots in Him!

The Lies He Told You.

Dear Heir of the Kingdom,

The Devil’s lies are his way of attempting to convince you that God is not capable of caring for you and providing for your needs– it is his attempt at breaking our bond with our Father.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

John 10:10 ESV

Allow the Lord to occupy your thoughts and His Truth to penetrate your heart.

Storehouses.

Dear Heir of the King,

“The Lord will open to you his good treasury, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hands. And you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.” Deuteronomy‬ ‭28:12‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Have you ever truly wrapped your mind around the fact you are an heir of the King? He has stored riches in Heaven for you. He has specific plans to enhance and better your future with Him. He has storehouses which hold gifts that He has perfectly planned to distribute to you and lavish upon you. He is a God of love and pure goodness. He wants to share your life with you as you face the ins and outs of your every day adventures. Journey with Him and seek His face! He never ceases to amaze those He loves!

Entrapment.

Dear Chosen,

“Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the Lord means safety.”
Proverbs 29:25 NLT

The trap that we fall into is that Satan leads us to believe his lies by convincing us that we need the approval of people instead of needing the approval of God.

May you grasp the fact that the only standard that you have to live up to is that of the Word of God and no one or anything else.

The Devout.

Dear Chosen One,

“The Bible is the only book where the author is in love with the reader.”

He is fascinated by you. He delights in you. He wrote the Bible with the intent of revealing Himself to you and expressing His love for you. He loves to lavish you. He desires to know you. He understands you. He pursues you. Are you choosing to choose Him as He continually chooses you?

Radical Love.

Dear Light of the World,

“Then I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia. And I was still unknown in person to the churches of Judea that are in Christ. They only were hearing it said, “He who used to persecute us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.””

Galatians 1:21-23 ESV

What a testimony! I love the fact that this passage highlights just how powerful the love of God is. Galatians 1:11-24 is a depiction of Paul’s radical transformation. Paul was called to be set apart by God but he did not always walk according to his calling. However, once God grabbed ahold of his heart, it was evident. Paul concludes the chapter by saying that people knew him as the one who used to persecute Christians yet now he professes the gospel and is a strong ambassador for the Kingdom of God. The love of God is powerful, life-changing, and transforming beyond comprehension. God does not want perfect. He just wants you. He chases after sinners. He desires to know you— even in your darkest state. My Heavenly Father is well aware of my sinful nature yet He still chose to rescue me so that He could have me for Himself and He still chooses to pursue me regardless of my lack of gratitude for His sacrifice.

Choose to choose to Him today as He still chooses to choose you. He loves you with the same radical love that changed Paul’s life. May His radical love change you in a radical way this week!

The Weight of the Wait.

Dear Light of the World,

Through our tantrums— He waits. While dealing with our stubborn hearts— He waits. Through our brokenness— He waits. Our insecurities— He waits. Through our tears— He waits. Through our fears— He waits. Our undesirable characteristics— He waits. Through our development— He waits. Through our unwillingness— He waits.

He waits on us. However, we are typically so reluctant to wait on Him. He waits for us to come back to Him even when we have hardened hearts and stubborn spirits yet we very seldom wait in anxious anticipation for the gift that comes through the process of waiting. The weight of waiting is not a fun experience. The weight that we bear currently pales in comparison to the eternal inheritance that we will gain from our current struggles.

Raging Seas.

Dear Child of God,

“God is not a God of disorder.”

I find that it is often when I try to insert my own ideas, plans, and desires into the mix of what God already has planned for me, it is in those moments when chaos and disorder begin to sneak into my life. I despise disorder because it feels like things seem to spiral downhill whenever disorder besieges me. However, the Lord has taught me religiously over the years that He already has a plan for me, even in the smallest areas of my life— it might not be something that I can physically see unfolding before my eyes right at the moment but it is far more grand and spectacular than any plan that I could draw up or imagine. This has also birthed an entirely new level of trust in Him. Disorder is not something that He has is in His design for me or you. He is not a misleading God- He is not a father who causes chaos, confusion or disorder. He is a Father who brings stability, refuge, direction, peace, and comfort amongst the stormiest seas. Have you ever watched raging waters as they come to a sudden halt? That is exactly what the Lord wants to do with your life. He will calm all of your raging seas, regardless of how uncontrollable they might seem to you. He refers to you by your name because He cares and He cares that you know that He cares for you that much– so much that He calls you by name. Allow Him to calm your seas this week!

Sacrificial.

Dear Bearer of the Cross,

“Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.”

Hebrews 13:16 ESV

This passage stretches across the board in so many aspects of our lives. It emphasizes the posture of our hearts as believers. What was the mission of Christ as He journeyed the earth? He did not withhold from others. He was a great steward of the little that He did have when He resided here on earth. He loved immensely and He was not selfish about tangible or physical things— whether it was food or something else, the Bible is a solid record of relentless stories about the humility of the Lord. I think it is important that we ask ourselves— what is the position of your heart? Do you share freely and willingly? Is your heart in a posture of sacrificial stance? This requires the Spirit of the Lord filling and occupying our spirits and chipping away at our fleshly beings. It aligns with an attitude that resembles the desire to have less of ourselves and more of Him.

Share the good news, be a steward of the gifts that our Savior entrusted specifically to you, and walk in the joy and light of His love today!
